August 2009 - SKEALS visit to Bridlington

On Tuesday 21st July 2009 members of SKEALS left our area to visit Bridlington.

We were met at the Priory Church by author and local historian, Mike Wilson, and inside the church were given an introduction to its history. We later walked along High Street and looked at the variety of 18th and 19th century houses and shops.

Most of us were fairly familiar with the seaside resort of Bridlington but had never visited the Old Town, which has been a market and trading centre from the early Middle Ages.

Bridlington Quay, the port, was established as a seaside resort in the 18th and 19th centuries. The Priory Church is most impressive and High Street is delightful.

This month our Photo Gallery shows ten photographs taken on the visit.
