Inscription reads;
Sacred to the memory of Elizabeth Weiley the wife of Benjamin Weiley of Easington who departed this life the 7th May 1851 aged 76 years. Also Benjamin Weiley the husband of the above Elizabeth Weiley who departed this life the 22nd June 1855 aged 82 years.

The 1851 census records Benjamin Wiley 76, and his wife Elizabeth 75, a Farmer of 70 acres residing at South End, living with them at the time was Ellen Bride a niece age 20, and John Clubley a nephew age 30, who was employed as a farm servant.
