In memory of Mary the wife of William Johnson of this town & daughter of Jno. & Elizth. Whiting of Owthorn who died Novr 2nd 1807 aged 26 years. How vain and transcient is this mortal state. Here you behold there is a God of fate: I married was when in the bloom of life, one hour a mother, fortysix weeks a wife. I’m now intombed in our native clay. Yet I shall arise at the decisive day: When Jesus comes to judge the human race, And shew to all that we are sav’d by grace.
Parish Register; 1807 Nov 24th Mary wife of William Johnson, Taylor.
