Inscription reads;
Sacred to the memory of Bride Hodgson who departed this life the 13th of June 1827 aged 17 years. A lingering disease has done the deed. The monster death has cut the mortal thread. The silver cord of life, at once gave way. And into gloomy mansions sunk thy clay. But lo thy happy soul ascends to Heaven. With songs of joy, and thy reward is given.
