In memory of William Child who died January 25th 1861 aged 67 years.
Parish Register; 1861 Jan 31st William Child, Easington 67 years.
The 1851 census has William Child residing at Rectory Farm, a widower aged 57 years and farmer of 490 acres, born at Rockheaton. Known locally as the “King of Easington” due to his official position as local representative to the Lord of the Manor of Easington, Kilnsea and Skeffling, Sir Clifford Constable.
